Impacket is a foundational capability for offensive security. Artifacts from Impacket are commonly found in the wake of intrusions involving the lowest and highest skill threat groups. It is a versatile Python package with a large suite of tools that leverage Windows protocols.
The purpose of this module is to familiarize you with the Impacket suite of tools from both an offensive and a defensive standpoint. We will perform attacks in a controlled environment and examine the results. By the end, you should have an understanding of how Impacket scripts are used, what they look like and how an attacker might modify them to reduce their footprint on the network. This module covers the essential lateral movement and credential access capabilities.
